Greyson joined our family on April 11 of this year. His birth was much less eventful but no less special than Tate's, though I was 7 cm by the time I got to the hospital. (You can't be a labor nurse and go to the hospital in false labor, it's just too embarrassing. So I had to make sure I was in labor before I got there.)
Greyson has been a very sweet baby. He loves to smile and talk to us and do all the things that 2 month old babies do. He seems to like it when Tate or I sing to him. He'll cuddle with me occasionally, but he would rather put his head up and look at what's going on around him. He's not a big fan of his pacifier like Tate was. I think I expected them both to act the same. Rookie mistake! This is a recent picture of Grey:
He doesn't have as much hair as Tate did when he was a baby and what he does have is dark like Dave's. I think he has my eyes and Dave's nose and mouth. I often find myself thinking about what he'll look like as he grows up.
Here are a few of the professional pictures we had taken when he was a newborn.
Tate has adjusted to being a big brother pretty well. He has had his moments of jealousy - mostly directed at me as I am the one that Greyson spends most of his time with. But he loves to give his brother hugs and kisses and has developed his own hug/kiss/zerbert/tickle routine. I'm not sure how he came up with it.
Tate played soccer this spring and is now playing blastball, which is kind of like t-ball, except they only use one base and it squeaks when you step on it. He loves to do anything that involves running, jumping, throwing, or hitting so I envision us enrolling him in many sporting activities until he figures out what he likes. And also to get some of his energy out. :)
Tate is exceptionally curious and is also quite the talker. I can only imagine what he is going to be when he grows up. At the moment he thinks he would like to be a firefighter. He can easily wear you out with his questions and just when you think he couldn't possibly have another question about something, he'll find something else to ask about. His most recent question is how Jesus gets up to heaven. I think I haven't been able to come up with a good enough answer, so he keeps asking me. (I keep telling him that Jesus either flies up to heaven or that God just lifts him up. If you can think of a better answer, please let me know!) He also has made it his business to learn all of our neighbor's names and will yell "Hi" to them whenever he is outside. He used to be so shy!
Hopefully I can continue to keep this updated!
