What's he up to these days....

Our newer laptop is currently broken. I hope it is salvageable because there are pictures on it that I was going to use for our Christmas cards. The laptop I am on now is ancient and we only have it because I needed one to work on projects back when I was in school. It....... is....... really....... really...... slow. I'm pretty sure it runs by the power of tiny hamsters running on a wheel inside. So, no pictures to upload for now. People often ask what Tate's up to these days. These are purely random, but here are a few things he's doing.

He loves to get us each a napkin for meals. He calls them "dakins". He will get several out and put one at Dave's spot, one at my spot, and one at his spot. This is a big deal. We must each have a napkin or there will be tears. He also likes to set the table. He will get each of us a fork and spoon. He can count to ten, so sometimes we get more silverware than necessary.

He really loves to read books. He even will narrate the book by the pictures if he is looking at it by himself. I'm not sure if this love of books is inborn or if it's because we have read to him since he was a newborn. Either way, I hope it's a habit he continues into adulthood.

He loves to be outside, something that's becoming difficult now that it's gotten cooler.

He loves anything with a motor, whether it's a semi or some type of construction equipment. This also includes his beloved mower, and at a friend's house this weekend, a toy vacuum cleaner.

He loves Elmo. Period.

He loves to "be tall". I have been trying to teach him simple concepts like tall and short, big and small, etc. He likes to stack things so "they're tall" and he loves to get his stepstool out so "Tate's tall".

He is still working on pronouncing the letters M and N. Mommy is still "Babee", which I actually think is adorable so I don't mind the mispronunciation. But the other day he was talking about the "big boobs", which we later realized meant "big balloons" that we had seen the day before. Could potentially lead to some awkward moments out in public.

He still likes to sit on my lap and will give us hugs and kisses if asked to. I love to kiss or zerbert his little neck. It never fails to make him giggle and there is just something babyish and soft about it that just melts my heart.

That's all I can think of for now. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! Keep your fingers crossed for the return of the laptop!
