December 2010

I'm a little behind in posting pictures from the past month.  Right after Thanksgiving we went to find our Christmas tree at our favorite tree farm.  Tate was very excited.  I'm not sure what he was more excited about, finding a tree or riding in Grandpa's truck.

Running to the trees.

"There's a lot of trees out here, Mama!"

We found the perfect tree!  Tate and Daddy checking out the trunk situation.

Posing in front of the tree with the all-important saw.

Tate takes a turn at cutting down the tree.

The tree ended up being about a foot taller than our ceiling, so Dave had to cut the trunk several times before we got it to fit.  Tate is posing with an ornament that he made last year.

Hanging ornaments.
Tate had his first Christmas pageant at church this year.  He learned three songs and dressed up as an angel.  The kids got up on the stage in the sanctuary to sing.  Tate was so excited to get up on stage!

I wondered if he would be too nervous to sing, but he sang his little heart out!
"Away in a Manger"

"Ring the bells"

"Jesus, you are here with me"
Tate had two Santa experiences this year.  The first involved Santa arriving at the downtown square in a fire truck, lights flashing.

Utter amazement at the fire truck.

Wow, Santa is SO much cooler when he arrives in a fire truck!

Whose kid is that, beating up on the inflatable snowman?

This is Santa experience #2.  Tate was a little nervous about sitting on Santa's lap, but he did it this year!

"I'd like a train set and a cement mixer, Santa."
